Check It Out!

This evening, I felt like making a coffee cake, so I found this recipe from marthastewart.com. I pretty much followed it exactly, except I used butter instead of vegetable shortening, buttermilk instead of milk, and half whole wheat flour. It turned out really well. Martha definitely came through.

What a co-ink-i-dink that you posted a coffee cake recipe just as I was wracking my brain trying to think of something for an impromptu breakfast birthday treat for my friend April.I may consider your recipe but am torn between that and a quick bread such as pumpkin bread or something more complex like cinnamon rolls. Decisions, decisions.... You set the bar so high daahling that one feels compelled to rise to the occasion at all times. XXXOOO
